Miro's Bio

Miro Herak, an acclaimed vibraphonist and composer, was born in Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia) and spent his formative years in Bratislava, Slovakia. From early childhood, Miro's musical journey was marked by a profound connection to percussion, eventually leading him to become a member of the esteemed Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.

The pivotal turn in Miro's musical trajectory occurred when he discovered his passion for jazz and improvised music. Fuelled by this newfound enthusiasm, he embarked on a transformative journey at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where he pursued his master's degree in Jazz Vibraphone performance. Since then, Miro has called The Hague home, carving out a distinguished career as a versatile performer, composer, and dedicated educator.

Miro Herak is not only a solo artist,  but also founder behind multiple award-winning musical ventures. His group, AsGuests, has garnered acclaim for its innovative approach, while the multi-genre ensemble, The Hague Ethospheric Orchestra, stands as a testament to Miro's commitment to pushing artistic boundaries. Additionally, Miro has recently unveiled the exciting projects KuVenda and Atlantic Road Trip, further expanding his creative repertoire.

Throughout his career, Miro has had the privilege of collaborating with an array of esteemed artists, including Norma Winstone, Alex Sipiagin, Yuri Honing, Eric Vloeimans, Anton Goudsmit, John Ruocco, and many others. His ability to seamlessly navigate various musical landscapes has made him a sought-after presence in the international music scene.

In addition to his thriving career as a performer, Miro shares his knowledge and passion for jazz as a faculty member at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. There, he imparts his expertise in jazz vibraphone and leads ensemble classes, inspiring the next generation of musicians.
